Digital Britain to introduce speeding fines.
After the 50p telephone line tax, the opportunities for stealth revenue generation are too good to miss. So Digital Britain’s appendix (currently being drafted) is to recommend Speeding fines, For users that upload or download too much data over any 4 hour period. A spokespersons said “These users are clogging up the pipes that digital britain runs on, and these users are mostly likely to be engaging in illegal activities. These speeding fines will make the net safer for all users”. It’s unclear yet how the points system will work in addition to the fines, a throttled connection rather than a disconnection being the current suggestion for serial abusers.
The Daily Mail is fully behind the proposal as people fined can be then screened for pedophile or terrorist tendencies.
Not really but watch out.
