Self Harming Nokia’s. Nokia’s new N97 was meant to be *the* smart phone, sadly its come out (on the same day as the iPhone 3Gs) with firmware riddled with bugs (crashes - corrupts photos, etc, etc. iPlayer that required hacking to connect to wifi.), a keyboard thats sub standard, and worst of all theres a nifty feature thats turned into a nightmare.  The camera protective glass (plastic) has a sliding cover to keep it safe in your pocket, some bright spark decided to add a little soft pad under it to make it clean each time it opens/closes - the trouble is - it actually scratches the plastic.  Now I had read about this on the forums - so have been extra extra careful opening and closing the slider - but i like to take photos - I’ve taken 90 in under a week.  Yesterday the first scratch turned up - and today another. At he moment they are not harming the photos as they are to one side - but soon the glass will be scared so badly it will alter images, particularly badly when the flash fires as it causes a fogging effect. Basically there is no fix for this without a physical change to the hardware.
Recall time.
