Some Transparency please. I saw a slick advert with space hoppers online, create your own it said - no branding, some new socal network, or a viral ad campaign more like. But no brand anywhere, you go though the whole thing until its only revealed on a data protection tick box - its sony ericsson. Then the font make sence and it seems obvious. The campaign is slick and engaging, I wish I had more control over the placement of the face elements, it feels a bit limited in customising. But why hide the brand. SE is popular with the demographics so theres no issue with fit and users wanting to interact with the brand. It just annoys me that trick tactics have been deployed. When they just are not needed.
Marketing managers that have no belief in there own brand that they have to trick users into playing with a ‘cooler’ thing are a fail in anyones book.
And its such a nice potential campaign, esp if it extends to a series of casual games and customisations on the phones themselves.
4/10 could do better SEE ME.
