Psycho Filler: Psycho Buildings opened yesterday in the Hayward Gallery. It is a series of artists installations based on architecture. Based is a loose term here, but most of the pieces are architecture sized or themed. It’s a fairly interactive experience - even if everything has DO NOT TOUCH all over it. But it involves putting yourself in spaces created for the exhibition. It’s a mixed bag, some are fun and playful, some are familiar and unexciting. But overall it works. My furtive flickr pics and videos are here. My favourite was the Life Tunnel - which was a genuine joy, especially as you could here the noise of other people using it before you even reached it, building a nice anticipation, then it delivered enough joy and surprise to excite me. The boating lake had a big queue so I didn’t bother, sadly there’s no real way to view it unless you actually take a boat out.
