RIP N96 and N78 it was nice not knowing you: Nokia’s stunningly confusing product range took a strange turn this week with the launch of the N85 and N79. Both effectively killing the month or so old N78 and the yet to be released N96. The N85 makes the N96 redundant for all but a minority of users - The N96 is inferior except for a slightly larger screen and integrated memory (nice summation here). Ignore the DVB-H as that’s useless in 95% of the world. The N96 was announced back in feb and it is still not out. Too little, too late. Samsung’s copy and improve INNOV8 is superior and out a month earlier. Meanwhile nokia have launched 4 or 5 almost identical sliders to further confuse punters.
